Human remains found at Boyne River, cause of death under investigation

Nottawasaga OPP investigating the discovery of human remains Saturday at the Boyne River in Alliston.

​

Officers conducting foot patrol found the body shortly after 11:30 am on Aug 15.

​

OPP's ERT, K-9, and Identification, were on scene in the area near the band shell, for the recovery.

 

Police said this morning the investigation is ongoing to determine the ID of the individual and the cause of death.

​

"The preliminary investigation suggests this is an isolated incident with no signs of a broader threat. Police resources have cleared the area," according to OPP.

 

"Due to the investigation further details won't be released until medical examination is complete."
