Variety of drugs seized in Essa, one charged

Nottawasaga OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have charged one individual following a drug trafficking investigation in Essa.

This morning (Oct. 28), with assistance from the Collingwood OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Huronia West OPP CSCU, and Nottawasaga OPP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), officers executed a search warrant in Essa.

 

Officers seized approximately 64 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 96mg of suspected hydromorphone, 1,200mg of suspected morphine, a quantity of Canadian currency, brass knuckles, an imitation handgun, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Kevin Mason, 45, of Essa Township, was arrested and charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking - three counts

• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

• Unauthorized possession of a weapon 

• Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order - two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on Thursday, December 10, 2026.
