South Simcoe Police (SSP) have made arrests, with two suspects still at-large, in connection to a home invasion that took place last February in Innisfil.

On February 7, 2026, SSP received a report of a home invasion at a residence in the area of Ferguson Street and Benson Street in Alcona.

Three suspects, armed with firearms forced entry into the residence, while a fourth suspect waited in a vehicle. Five occupants of the residence were confined at gunpoint while the suspects searched for a safe containing a quantity of Canadian currency.

"During the incident, the occupants were assaulted, cellular telephones were stolen, and rooms were ransacked.  The suspects fled the scene in separate vehicles, one of which was stolen from the driveway of the residence," according to police.

"Responding officers later observed one of the suspect vehicles travelling westbound on Benson Street. The vehicle subsequently stopped after striking a snowbank, and the lone occupant fled the area on foot. Police canine attended the scene, and a perimeter was established; however, the suspect was not located.

The vehicle stolen from the driveway was later involved in an unrelated incident in Peterborough and was recovered by the OPP near Cobourg after being stopped by officers."
